THE GALLOWAY SCHOOL
Athletics Fields
Atlanta, Georgia

The Galloway School Athletic Fields were developed on 8 acres located on DeFoors Ferry Road approximately 10 miles from the main campus. The site is on a landfill abandoned in the 1960s requiring extensive environmental analysis, methane mitigation system, and a ground consolidation method called Deep Dynamic Compaction. The field and track were laser-graded to produce the high level of quality control needed for the field and track surface.

An excellent relationship with the neighboring community was maintained during the design and construction process through continual and open communication by all members of the team.

The project included Bioretention/Rain Gardens as part of the water filtering/detention system and a Concession and Restroom facility.
