NORTHSIDE
HOSPITAL - FORSYTH
Cumming,
Georgia
Northside Hospital purchased the
former Baptist Hospital in Cumming, Georgia and immediately
needed to expand it. The project consisted of a two-level
vertical addition to accommodate 48 new patient rooms and
renovation of the hospital’s main laboratory.
Construction of the vertical expansion was directly
above existing patient rooms, so safety and patient privacy
issues were paramount in planning efforts. Work in existing
patient areas was carefully planned and scheduled in small
phases, and a proactive communication program was implemented
to minimize disruption and stress to patients and staff.
The project was designed and constructed for $500,000
less than the approved budget and was opened as scheduled in
July of 2003. |
