FAIRFIELD
BAPTIST CHURCH
Lithonia, Georgia
Fairfield Baptist Church needed to expand its facilities in
order to accommodate a fast-growing congregation and to have
space for new ministries and operations. After several
planning and pricing exercises, the project remained
substantially over budget and had fallen behind schedule.
Collins Project Management was hired to examine the budget
and help move the project forward. An aggressive value
engineering exercise and negotiations with the
design-builder resulted in a net savings of more than
$1 million. The project was delivered on time and within
the approved budget.
The 50,000 sf project consists of two buildings – a Family
Life Center and an Education/Administration building. The
Education/Administration building included a computer lab,
library, classrooms, and daycare center. The Family Life
Center includes a stage, full-production kitchen, and
additional classroom space. |
