Atlanta, Georgia
Carrie Steele-Pitts is a home for disadvantaged children located west of downtown Atlanta that has served its community for more than 100 years.
The campus consisted of several dormitory buildings and a central kitchen and dining facility. The Life Learning Center was conceived to provide a central place for children to learn, grow, and play together. The 25,000 sq. ft. multi-purpose facility contains a competition pool, computer lab, classrooms, and multi-use rooms.
In order to meet a very aggressive budget target, a modular precast system was utilized for the building envelope.
