THE GALLOWAY SCHOOL

Fine Arts Center
Atlanta, Georgia

Collins Project Management was engaged to provide total program management services from concept through completion and occupancy. The project consisted of a 40,000 sf, 300-seat Theater, Classroom Addition, covered parking, and playground.

The Fine Arts Center had to be carefully planned and staged to minimize impact on ongoing school operations. Communication with adjacent neighborhoods was critical to success because of the sensitivities of the surrounding community to construction traffic, noise and dust.

The project team had to navigate a difficult project approval and permitting process, and then maintain an aggressive construction schedule in order to complete the project and make it available for the 2003-2004 school year.

Athletics Fields
Atlanta, Georgia

The Galloway School Athletic Fields were developed on 8 acres located on DeFoors Ferry Road approximately 10 miles from the main campus. The site is on a landfill abandoned in the 1960s requiring extensive environmental analysis, methane mitigation system, and a ground consolidation method called Deep Dynamic Compaction. The field and track were laser-graded to produce the high level of quality control needed for the field and track surface.

An excellent relationship with the neighboring community was maintained during the design and construction process through continual and open communication by all members of the team.

The project consisted of a regulation soccer field, 400 meter track, associated field events, and a practice soccer field. If also included Bioretention/Rain Gardens as part of the water filtering/detention system and a Concession and Restroom facility.
